Almajiri Boy Allegedly Thrown Into Fire By Master In Gombe

An Almajiri boy who works with a bakery in Bajoga community, Gombe state was reportedly thrown into fire by his master.

According to a Twitter report by a youth advocate in the state, @gombe_dopest, the boy was allegedly thrown into the bakery oven by his master when he (the master) suspected him of stealing bread.

“A boy (Almajiri) who works for a bakery in Bajoga was thrown into fire by his master because he suspects him of stealing bread from the factory.”

The boy, according to report, “is currently at FTH Gombe receiving treatment of the burns he sustained at the incident.”

The man was arrested after the incident by the Police but was later released on bail after someone presented a report that the abuser is mentally affected.

@gombe_dopest laments the maltreatment of Almajiri kids in the state.

Leg of the Victim after the alleged incident

“This is how people have less value for human lives and abuse children on daily basis just because they’re Almajiris.”

He called on the government and concerned agencies to look into the matter.

“This is to call on government agencies, human rights bodies, activists & concerned citizens in order to stand for Humanity & bring child abusers to Justice.”
