Transportation Minister Attacked By Nigerians In Spain

Some persons described as “misguided Nigerians” on Friday attacked the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaehi, in Spain.

Amaechi, while disclosing this on his verified Twitter handle, said he was attacked at an event on climate change held in Madrid, Spain.

He said Spanish policemen succeeded in stopping his attackers before they could hurt him.

“Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain. They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers.”

Recall that the immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu in August confirmed a physical assault on him by some members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra in Nuremberg, Germany.

Amaechi, however, did not disclose the identities of his attackers.

*Nigerians react*

Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the encounter of the minister. Instead of them commiserating him, the minister was rather scolded.

@BANKYBABA in his own reaction said “what are you doing in a climate change event? Are you the Minister of Environment? Abeg pack well.”

@Osegun4real said “God bless those patriots. You cannot revel in “heaven” while creating “hell” for the people.”

Another Twitter handler, @eagles2cops1 said “until Nigerians begin to feel the impact of true leadership, the current leaders may be having these panic attacks. Leaders why not lead well. What innovations are you putting on ground for the poor massess. We must change our ways in this country. People are angry.”
